  • Co-founded the first ventured-backed high tech start-up in Iran and raised $500K initial investment.

  • Led the next generation architecture, technology R&D and UE/interaction development at PacketVideo.

  • Founded the first industry forum for multimedia streaming with more than 30 leading companies and completed the first recommendation.

  • Headed the Interactive Media Group with the R&D revenues over $2M in 1999.

  • Active participation in major international standards (MPEG-4, JPEG-2000, WMF, M4IF, 3GPP, 3GPP2, WAP) with hundreds of submissions and chaired various activities under major standard bodies.

  • Creating new technology initiative (MPEG-4) in a company and building a team and successfully fund it.

  • Led the technical effort to start a spin-off venture in the area of video streaming for Internet applications.

  • Initiated and  led the group of nine US companies in a $30 M proposal submission to NIST ATP program.

  • Invented several technology components and successfully obtained patent rights for them.

  • Led the design for digital right management (DRM) for multimedia players using MPEG-4 Intellectual Property Management and Protection (IPMP) version 1.

  • Led the group effort of 6 companies and one university to complete a still image codec proposal and submitting it to JPEG-2000 which was ranked first (along with four others) among 27 proposals.
